A country estate with origins in the mid-17th century, overlooking the Marlborough Downs.

The 17th century saw many of Wiltshire's finest houses built or enlarged as country retreats for landowners and prosperous merchants, their ambitions sustained by the region's agricultural wealth, the wool trade and an expanding national commerce. Burderop House was first raised in a restrained classical manner befitting the age. Over the centuries that followed, it was shaped by successive alterations and additions, each leaving its mark on the character and architectural form that endures today.

In 2023, the estate passed into the care of the Dallimer family, who have since undertaken an extensive programme of restoration — renewing the house and its buildings with careful attention to their historic fabric and the integrity of their setting.
